Who stands behind the Anjouan casino licence
- Issued by: the Anjouan Offshore Financial Authority, under the island’s Computer Gaming Licensing Act. Anjouan Licensing Services Inc. handles every Anjouan gaming licence as the sole administrator for the Anjouan Gaming Board.
- Two kinds: B2C for casinos that take players’ bets, B2B for suppliers that serve casinos.
- What it can cover: online casinos, sports betting, poker and bingo, prediction markets, and blockchain and crypto gaming.
- What the casino pays: €17,828 to obtain the licence and the same each year to renew it, plus €500 for each extra web address per licensing cycle.
- Where to look a casino up: the Anjouan licence register, by name, number or web address.
- Disputes: the casino’s own complaint process first, then one of the four approved dispute-resolution providers.
What does the licence ask of a casino?
Seven things, from keeping your balance apart from the casino’s own money to running only on approved web addresses.
What the Anjouan casino licence asks of a casino, and what that means for you
| Area |
What the licence asks |
What it means for you |
| Your balance |
Player balances kept apart from the money the casino runs on |
The money in your account should sit apart from the money that pays the casino’s bills |
| Terms before you pay |
Bonus terms, wagering and withdrawal conditions shown clearly, in plain language, before any transaction |
The payout rules should be readable before your first deposit, not found after it |
| Identity checks |
Customer checks and ongoing monitoring of payments against money laundering |
Expect an ID check before your first payout, and possibly more checks later |
| Fair games |
Random number generators certified by an approved independent testing lab; rules, odds and payout information on show |
Games should run on tested software and show how they pay |
| Limits and breaks |
Self-exclusion, limits on deposits, wagers, losses and session time, and age checks |
You can cap your play or close access to your account |
| A dispute |
An approved dispute-resolution provider, paid for by the casino |
A complaint the casino leaves open after 30 days can go to an outside reviewer, at no cost to you |
| The site you use |
Approved web addresses only; the licence seal comes down at once if the licence is suspended, revoked or expires |
The seal on the address in your browser should open a register page that lists that address |
The first two rows come from the authority’s code of conduct for licensed casinos, the rest from its regulatory standards, licence conditions, complaint policy and seal policy.
Which rules does each Anjouan casino set itself?
The licence asks for clear terms and limit tools, and each casino’s own terms put numbers on them.

Once (9.7); under 3 times, transaction costs may apply (11.2) |
Deposit and time limits, a temporary closure and self-exclusion, by its homepage |
Anjouan Gaming Board, on its homepage’s own word, with no number or seal |
Win Place’s address does not come up on the register either, so ask its support for its licence details before you deposit; our guide to matching a casino’s number to its web address takes a couple of minutes once you have one. Wildies, second on our list, shows no licence line on its own pages, though its main address, wildies.com, is listed on the Anjouan register; the numbered mirror addresses it also uses are not.
What happens when a payout complaint stalls?
Once the casino has had 30 days to settle it, you may take it to an outside reviewer, and the casino pays the cost. The authority’s complaint policy sets the steps.
A payout complaint under an Anjouan licence, step by step
| Step |
Time limit |
What happens |
| 1. Complain to the casino |
30 days for payments, blocks or bonuses; 14 days from the session for a game result |
Use the complaint form behind the licence seal, and write in English; a complaint sent another way may not be accepted |
| 2. The casino answers |
Up to 30 days |
It looks into the complaint and replies through its own process |
| 3. Take it outside |
Once those 30 days have passed |
You may take it to EGIS ADR, Axion ADR, iGaming ADR or CADRE; the casino pays for the review |
| 4. The review |
Set by the provider |
The provider checks that the complaint is within its remit, hears both sides and sets out its outcome in writing |
| 5. After the outcome |
7 days at EGIS ADR; set by the provider elsewhere |
Either side may appeal at EGIS ADR, Axion ADR and iGaming ADR; a CADRE decision binds you and the casino unless you both agreed otherwise beforehand |
Look for the provider’s name in the casino’s terms. The licence conditions ask for it there, and casinos that already held a licence have until their next renewal to add it. Withdrawals, bonus terms and responsible gaming are all on the lists of disputes that Axion ADR and CADRE handle.
The authority’s own process runs in English. EGIS ADR, iGaming ADR and CADRE say they will translate a complaint written in your own language, while Axion ADR takes complaints in English. Keep the matter moving, too: EGIS ADR can turn down a complaint sent more than 12 months after the casino said it could not resolve it.
Can you set limits or take a break?
Yes. The licence asks every casino that holds it for self-exclusion and for limits on deposits, wagers, losses and session time. A self-exclusion request goes to the casino, not the authority, which does not process them; if a casino fails to honour one, you can report it to the authority through its compliance reporting.
Limits are easiest to set before the first deposit, at each casino where you hold an account. At Mad Casino, a tighter limit takes effect at once and a looser one only after 48 hours, so a cap cannot be lifted on a whim.
What does an Anjouan casino licence not cover?
Three things: the countries it excludes, web addresses outside it, and a licence that is no longer active.
- Where you live. Players from territories a licence excludes are outside its complaint process, so read the restricted-country list in a casino’s terms before you sign up.
- Other web addresses. A licence covers only the addresses approved for it, and its seal may not appear anywhere else. A mirror or look-alike address can sit under another company’s licence, or under none.
- A licence that has lapsed. The authority marks each licence Active, Suspended, Revoked or Expired, and only an active one lets a casino operate. Read the expiry date beside the status, since a register entry can still read valid after that date has passed. Our guide to what the full list of Anjouan licences shows puts those statuses in numbers.
Inside those limits, the authority keeps watch. Casinos file regular compliance reports on their anti-money-laundering checks, responsible gaming and finances, and the authority can review a casino, order it to correct a fault by a set date, add conditions to its licence, suspend it or revoke it.
The habits that catch most problems early, from the licence line to the support channels, are in our six checks to run on a casino’s site before you register.
Short answers on the Anjouan licence
What is an Anjouan casino licence?
A licence (or license, in the American spelling) to run online gambling, issued on the island of Anjouan in the Comoros. A casino that takes players’ bets holds the B2C kind, which names the web addresses it covers, and the casino’s seal opens its page on the authority’s register.
Can the authority make a casino pay me?
No. It does not handle or decide complaints between players and casinos. Your route is the casino’s own process, then an approved outside reviewer at the casino’s cost. A report that a casino broke its licence rules can still feed into the authority’s supervision of that casino.
Does the licence cover crypto casinos?
Yes. Blockchain-based platforms and crypto gaming are among the activities it can cover. Mad Casino, 7Gear and Win Place all take crypto, and our page on the coins each Anjouan casino pays out sets out their minimums and limits.
How can I tell a real licence seal from a copied one?
Click it. A real seal opens the casino’s own page on the authority’s register, and that page lists the address in your browser. A seal that is only a picture, or opens a page somewhere else, shows nothing about the licence.
