The licence behind each casino is the next thing to know. An Anjouan licence is issued by Anjouan, an island in the Union of the Comoros that licenses online casinos run from many countries, and the casinos on our list name these:

Which checks should a UK reader run first?
Three short ones, all on public pages, before any account is opened.
- The British register. The Gambling Commission’s public register can be searched by business name, by brand and by web address. If a casino’s exact domain does not appear there, the site has no British licence.
- The country list in the terms. A casino’s general terms usually carry a list of restricted or prohibited countries, and the casino applies that list to every account. It is where Mad Casino’s exclusion of UK residents sits.
- The licence seal in the footer. Where an Anjouan casino shows its seal, a click on it opens the validation page, showing the company behind the casino and the territories the seal excludes. SlotRoyals’ seal lists the United Kingdom among them.

How do pounds and euros show up on our list?
Side by side, so check the currency before you compare two figures. Most of these terms set their limits in euros, while the currencies they accept for an account differ:

Deposits, bonuses and withdrawals are counted in the currency of the account. When it differs from the currency of your card, the card issuer converts each payment and may add a foreign-currency fee, so the figure that reaches your bank statement can differ slightly from the one in the cashier.

Where does a complaint go from the UK?
The casino hears it first; after that, its licence and terms decide the route.

On the Anjouan route the complaint goes in through the form in the casino’s licence seal, within 14 days of the session for a disputed game result or 30 days for account matters such as payments. The casino has 30 days to answer, and a complaint still open after that can go to one of the dispute-resolution services the authority approves. The process does not cover players from the territories a casino’s seal excludes. Zizobet’s, Cosmobet’s and Velobet’s terms point to any independent body or the regulator listed on their sites, and Curaçao’s own rules add a certified dispute service.
