Which licence does each casino hold?

Five licences cover the six casinos, because Spin Polo and Daytona Spin share one. All five rows read valid:

Which casinos share one licence?

Every one of these rows lists more than one web address, and many of those addresses are casinos in their own right. Each address on a row runs under that one licence:

The authority’s own notice on the list adds that an address on a licence says nothing about who owns the brand or the domain. What a shared row does tell you is that the addresses on it sit under the same licence, so a casino’s terms and its seal are worth reading against that company, though a brand can run under a different company name.

Is madcasino.io the same as Mad Casino?

No. The address madcasino.io is one of the ten on Smash Casino’s row, a casino of its own that names the same company in its footer as Smash. The Mad Casino reviewed on this site runs at mad.casino, with madcasino.org beside it, on another company’s row with a different licence number. In the same way, shelbyspin.com on Wildies’ row is not ShelbyWin. When two names look alike, the address in your browser decides which row you are on.

Which other casinos on our list name Anjouan?

How many Anjouan licences are there?

More than 1,300, held by almost as many differently named companies, casino operators and suppliers alike. Between them they list about 3,700 web addresses, and a different company name does not always mean a different owner.

Most rows are short: about half name a single address, 59 list ten or more, and the longest runs to 63. The white-label kind lets one licensed company run a casino brand that someone else owns, so the brand and the company in its terms can differ. A supplier’s licence alone does not cover taking bets from players, and neither do the recognition letters the authority keeps on a separate list for suppliers.

What does a licence cost, and for how long?

€17,828 to issue and the same again each year to renew, and a little over half the licences run for a single year before renewal. That fee applies to consumer and supplier licences alike, according to the authority’s fee schedule, and most other terms are two or three years:

A dozen run for other terms, six of them for four years. Each extra casino domain under a consumer licence adds €500 per licensing cycle, so every extra address on a long row carries its own fee, and application fees are not refunded.

Does the authority take licences away?

Yes, and it publishes each case. Its revoked and suspended licence lists name three companies, and none of the three appears on the main list:

Only an active licence authorises a casino to operate, and the seal is meant to appear only while the licence is active. A seal that opens a live record is therefore better evidence than a logo in a footer.

What do the numbers mean for your account?

Two things: the address you play on should be one the row lists, and the status is worth reading together with the end date. Many casinos also run numbered mirror addresses; at Wildies, wildies.com is the address on the row, and its numbered mirrors are not listed there. A row can also go on reading valid after its end date has passed, so the date beside the status is the part to glance at.
